The Parklife Metro Consortium is working on an exciting new metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.
This city shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership, will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney.
WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint a BIM Specialist/Modeler.
Position Overview:The BIM Modeler plays a crucial role in the successful implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) for the SSTOM project.
The BIM Modeler is responsible for creating accurate and detailed 3D models of railway infrastructure components and coordinating with various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers.
This position requires expertise in BIM software, strong technical skills, and a deep understanding of railway infrastructure design and construction.
Job DescriptionBIM Modeling and Documentation: The BIM Specialist is responsible for creating and managing BIM models based on project requirements.
They utilize BIM software and tools to develop accurate and detailed 3D models that represent the various building systems and components.
Additionally, they ensure proper documentation of the BIM models, including annotations, dimensions, and other relevant information.BIM Software and Tool Expertise: The BIM Specialist possesses in-depth knowledge and expertise in BIM software and tools.
They are proficient in using software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, or other BIM authoring and coordination tools.
They stay updated with the latest features and functionalities of these tools and provide guidance to the project team members in their effective utilization.Clash Detection and Coordination: The BIM Specialist conducts clash detection analyses to identify and resolve clashes or conflicts among different building systems within the BIM models.
They work closely with project stakeholders to coordinate the design and construction elements, ensuring that clashes are minimized and conflicts are resolved before the actual construction phase.BIM Standards and Best Practices: The BIM Specialist helps establish and enforce BIM standards and best practices within the organization.
They ensure adherence to industry standards, company protocols, and project-specific requirements in BIM modeling, documentation, and coordination.
They contribute to the development and maintenance of BIM templates and libraries to enhance efficiency and consistency across projects.BIM Training and Support: The BIM Specialist provides training and support to project team members, assisting them in developing their BIM skills and understanding the software tools.
They may conduct workshops, training sessions, or one-on-one coaching to improve the BIM proficiency of the team members and ensure effective utilization of BIM technology on projects.BIM Data Management: Managing BIM data is an important responsibility of the BIM Specialist.
They ensure that accurate and up-to-date information is available within the BIM models and associated databases.
They may oversee data integration, data exchange formats, and data security measures to optimize data management within the BIM environment.Quality Control and Visualization: The BIM Specialist conducts quality control checks on BIM models, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements.
They also contribute to the visualization aspects of BIM models, generating renderings, walkthroughs, or other visual representations to facilitate design review, client presentations, and project communication.Continuous Improvement: The BIM Specialist actively seeks opportunities to improve BIM processes, workflows, and outcomes.
They stay updated with emerging trends and advancements in BIM technology and methodologies, evaluate new software tools, and propose enhancements to existing workflows to drive continuous improvement in BIM implementation.The BIM Specialist plays a critical role in providing specialized BIM expertise and support within the organization.
Their responsibilities revolve around BIM modeling, documentation, clash detection, standards compliance, software expertise, training and support, data management, quality control, visualization, and continuous improvement to optimize project outcomes through effective BIM utilization.
Qualifications and Skills:Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.MUST know how to use Revit and Navisworks.
Revizto, Civil 3D and 12D are a plus.In-depth knowledge of infrastructure design, construction methodologies, and relevant industry standards and regulations.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve clashes and conflicts within BIM models.Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.Continuous learning mindset and a passion for staying updated with emerging trends and technologies in BIM and railway infrastructure.How to Apply:Please submit your most recent resume.
