You'll most likely be working in rural areas across QLD & NSW and be required to work 10–12-hour days.
You will receive a generous living away from home allowance whilst travelling along with working alongside an inclusive site team.The ideal candidate will thoroughly enjoy working away in site teams or be based in regional QLD & NSW and be able to commute to project sites.
The position is hands-on in operating machinery to push, dig, excavate, and level for the installation of Optic Fibre cables for the Telstra network on the Inter City Fibre Network (ICF) project.
The position will also assist in hands-on labouring and civil-related duties.What you'll be doingOperate plant machinery such as Dozer, Excavator, Vacuum Truck, Winches and Mobile CranesIdentify blockages, using white rods and continuous rodder.Hauling multiple-size cables using hand and mechanical methods.Capture data and provide feedback to the team leader.Quality checks on workmanship during and after installation.Maintain tools, plant & equipment.Skills/QualificationsMandatoryCurrent driver's licenceCurrent Construction Industry Induction white cardRII & VOC for conduct tracked dozer & excavator operationsCurrent HR Heavy Rigid truck licenseCurrent senior first aid certificateWork safety at heights.High Risk License, Dogging / RiggingVehicle loading crane.About the ProjectThe ICF fibre network is an iconic project that only comes around once in a lifetime.
It involves the renewal/upgrade of the existing inter-city network across the Nation.
The new inter-city fibre cable uses technically improved optic fibre cable and architecture which will provide additional capacity between capital cities and remote communities to enhance performance and improve connectivity to regional Australia which will support the anticipated growth in bandwidth over the next 25+ years.
