About the RoleJoin our growing team in Darwin on a casual basis.
You will be caring for people with trauma background, complex behaviours and disability in a 24/7 residential setting or working long or short shifts in our community access program.
We also have positions available for support work in remote communities.
Key Responsibilities Provide daily care, supervision and transport for clientsSupport clients to live independentlyDevelop and support individual care plans, including activities, medication, hygiene and meal schedulesFollow established behavioural support plans and management plansProviding support to work towards individual goalsEncourage community engagement to support and increase life skills of clientsDevelopment of professional relationships with the participants, their families and others in the communityApply person-centered approach and therapeutic crisis intervention system (TCI)Provision of accurate and timely case notes, reporting and incident reportsUse of Brevity Care SoftwareSkills & Experience Qualifications / experience in Disability, Individual Support, Personal Care, Social Work or other relevant qualification (or be actively studying)Experience supporting people with complex mental health conditions where behaviours of concern are commonExperience in a residential care and/or community access settingKnowledge of trauma and its effects on the development and behaviours of peopleThe ability to contribute positively within a teamNDIS knowledge and awarenessCompletion of NDIS mandatory orientation moduleA current First Aid and CPR CertificateAvailability to work across a 24/7 fortnightly rotating roster (including sleepover & active nights)Availability to work community access long and short shiftsSuccessful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, Working with Children Check and/or NDIS Worker Screening, and have their own reliable transport.
