Position Title: Senior Hydraulic Consulting Engineer Reports To: Principal Engineer / Project Director Location: Chatswood, Northern Beaches Employment Type: Full-Time Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership: You'll be in charge of hydraulic engineering projects from start to finish, ensuring they're completed on time, within budget, and meet high-quality standards.
Hydraulic Design: You'll lead the design of hydraulic systems for various facilities, including stormwater drainage, sewers, water systems, rainwater harvesting, plumbing, and gas systems.
Sustainability Solutions: You'll focus on using sustainable practices like rainwater harvesting and water recycling to optimize resource efficiency in your designs.
Technical Expertise: You'll ensure all your designs follow relevant standards, codes, and client requirements.
You'll also prepare and review technical documents, reports, and calculations.
Team Development: You'll guide and teach junior engineers and team members, helping them grow professionally.
Client Focus: You'll be the main point of contact for clients, presenting solutions, answering questions, and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project.
Interdisciplinary Teamwork: You'll work closely with other teams like civil and structural engineers, architects, and contractors to coordinate and integrate hydraulic systems into the overall project.
Quality Control: You'll ensure hydraulic systems function as intended and meet design specifications by conducting quality checks, audits, and inspections.
Essential Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Hydraulic, or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience: 8+ years of post-graduation experience in a consulting or engineering design role, specializing in hydraulic modelling, stormwater management, and water/wastewater systems.
Technical Skills: Demonstrated expertise in hydraulic modelling software and CAD.
Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations, particularly Australian standards.
Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities to translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions.
Communication Skills: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and present technical information clearly.
Project Management: Proven ability to lead projects and manage teams effectively, ensuring timely delivery and meeting project objectives.
Regulatory Compliance: In-depth understanding of local and international codes and regulations related to hydraulic systems.
