The role
The successful candidate will lead state-wide efforts to survey mental health, alcohol, and other drugs services, gathering consumer and carer experience data to inform quality improvement initiatives.
This role involves managing the integrity and effectiveness of data collection methods and ensuring that experience of care and outcomes information is accurate, accessible, and impactful.
The position requires the use of Clinical Excellence Queensland's Project Management Framework to oversee national and state initiatives, guiding the strategic application of this data in service planning, policy development, and clinical evaluation processes.
In addition to providing expert business advice, the role will support the Analytics, Improvement, and Transformation Unit by aligning data collection systems with clinical and service needs.
The position involves advising senior management, external agencies, and key stakeholders on the effective use of data for decision-making, fostering the enhanced utilisation of information for local, state, and national reporting.
The ideal candidate will also contribute to training, maintain awareness of trends in service provision, and represent Queensland Health in relevant committees.
They will demonstrate leadership in identifying challenges for consumers and carers regarding data use, driving equitable information collection and reporting.
The successful person
To succeed in this role, you will need proven expertise in managing data collections, particularly those related to sourcing information that addresses both user and provider needs, such as experience of care or outcome data.
You should also have a demonstrated ability to identify and analyse issues, develop and implement solutions, and take initiative and responsibility in the data collection process.
Additionally, you will need a strong understanding of, or the ability to quickly learn and apply, national and state mental health service delivery policies, plans, and strategies related to mental health information development and consumer and carer engagement.
Strong written and verbal communication, along with negotiation skills, are essential for effective collaboration and consultation with stakeholders.
