Manager Financial RegulationJob no: 539564Work type: Ongoing full-timeLocation: All of NSW, ParramattaCategories: Financial Control/Management, Risk Management/ComplianceTogether we shape thriving communities, public spaces, places and economies.Exciting opportunity to join the Cemeteries & Crematoria NSW teamLead the creation of a new Financial Regulation functionOngoing full-time opportunityOffice location - Parramatta, other NSW locations negotiableSalary relative to experience and ranges from $139,787 to $161,663 + superCemeteries & Crematoria NSW (CCNSW) is a statutory agency created in 2014 under the Cemeteries and Crematoria Act 2013 to support and regulate cemetery and crematoria operators in NSW and provide information on burial and cremation options to the public.CCNSW is leading transformation of the regulation of the cemeteries and crematoria sector in NSW.
This includes implementing a new scheme licensing operators for the first time, as well as exploring future directions for the sector and developing policy and regulation in response to emerging issues.This is a rare, exciting opportunity to join an energised and customer focused agency tasked with delivering on a clear remit of priorities.
The team is collaborative, responsive and delivery-focused, in the context of a fast-paced and dynamic area of policy and regulation.The roleThe Manager Financial Regulation works collaboratively across the agency to ensure the effective management and intelligent use of financial information and other data to guide strategic and operational decisions and support informed regulation.
The role leads the financial aspects of regulation of the interment sector, provides internal financial management and accounting services, and ensures fit for purpose business systems.The role will build out this new function from concept to delivery as CCNSW significantly increases its use of financial intelligence and other data across all its activities.What you will bring to the roleUnderstanding of financial auditing practices and techniques, and experience using financial and other data to assess individual and systemic risks and vulnerabilities.Knowledge of the application of the Government Sector Finance Act 2018, Treasurer's Directions and Australian Accounting Standards, with a broad understanding of relevant government policies.Experience developing and delivering high quality internal financial management and accounting in a NSW public sector context.Strong problem-solving abilities to navigate complex challenges and adapt to evolving situations.Entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to create new financial capabilities and systems as well as implement them.Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple deadlines independently.What is an essential requirement:Qualifications or equivalent experience in financial analysis.What's in it for me?Join our team for a fantastic culture with dynamic collaboration and genuine long-term career support.
