As such the MA role is crucial in supporting operations to deliver accurate and timely financial information and analysis.Key responsibilitiesGeneral Ledger and sub-ledger maintenance for allocated business unit(s).Ensure Fixed Asset register is maintained including timely capitalisations and disposals, and appropriate depreciation methods are applied.Working with Operations to deliver monthly reports (Management and Capex) and financial information is accurate, timely and provides insightful analysis.Working with the Commercial Team to ensure project finances are in line with commercial expectations.Prepare monthly management accounts including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and budget variance analysis with general/ operations managers.Development and maintenance of Business Intelligence tools/dashboards and data analytics.Analyse and understand the financial and operational drivers of results.Drive continuous improvement in management accounting, ensuring ongoing increases in efficiency and effectiveness.Preparation of budgets and periodic rolling forecasts as required.Preparation of audit work papers and liaising with auditors to address their queries during half in full year, in addition to other ad hoc audits.Compliance with monthly reporting timetable.Provide assistance and support to the Corporate Finance Team as and when required, including input to statutory accounts, statutory returns and tax related matters.Assist general/operational managers to cost and budget new and existing operational projects, contracts and opportunities.Review external client invoicing.Ensure all accounting transactions are in line with MinRes policies and accounting standards.What is requiredTertiary Degree in AccountingCompleted CA/CPAExperience in a range of accounting activities – including general accounting, financial analysis, audit and management reportingHigh level competency in Microsoft Office, inclusive of ExcelExperience working in operational finance in mining or contracting services (preferable)Good technical accounting knowledge and ability to practically apply to MinResStrong relationship building, influencing and negotiating skillsAbout Mineral ResourcesMinRes is a leading diversified resources company with extensive operations in lithium, iron ore, energy and mining services across Western Australia.
