Project Manager: Operational Technology - NSW GovernmentLocation: Parramatta, Sydney, with good WFH flexibilityRate: $850 - $950 per day + SuperContract Length: 12mthsNote: Must have 7yrs+ experience as a project manager in critical infrastructure, operational technology & IT infrastructure preferably in the Government/Public sector.We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager: Operational Technology for our NSW Government client who will be responsible for leading the delivery of 1 or more Digital projects and/or programs in the Operational Technology field.These responsibilities include project planning, risk assessment, budgeting, stakeholder engagement/communication, leadership, time management, change controls, reporting, and process improvement.Preferable to have experience working in Critical Infrastructure & Government programs.Keys to Role:7+ years project management experienceGood knowledge of SCADA / Electrical or general OT operational environments.Good understanding on Operational requirements for delivery of Critical OT/ IT Infrastructure (eg; Standards; Design, Construction, Commissioning & Handover)Cyber Security requirements for Critical OTExtensive vendor management experienceKey Accountabilities:The Project Manager is accountable for the correct execution of project management processes for one or more projects. In situations where project coordinators or vendor project managers are providing services to the project - the project manager retains accountability for the management of those processes. The high-level definition of these processes is:IntegrationProject plan developmentProject plan executionIntegrated change controlScopeScope planningScope definitionScope change controlScope verificationCostResource planningCost forecasting/reportingCost controlCost estimatingCost budgetingTimeSchedule developmentSchedule controlQualityQuality planningQuality controlQuality assuranceRisk/IssueRisk/Issue identificationRisk/Issue monitoring and response planningRisk/Issue management planningLeadershipTeam developmentResource ManagementProcurementPurchase planningProcurementContract administrationCommunicationDocument managementCommunications planningInformation distributionPerformance reportingThere are several project manager specific deliverables (such as the project plan, project schedule, cost plan etc) that are owned by the project manager - these deliverables are in alignment with the PRINCE 2 methodology.Key SkillsEffective leadership, coordination, motivational, negotiation and dispute resolution skills.Strong understanding of business requirements and technical limitations as determined by the organisation's enterprise architecture.Ability to manage the competing demands of multiple projects in a timely manner.Ability to influence and build productive relationships with industry providers, vendors and stakeholders.Experience building and maintaining high performing project teams.Ability to influence and motivate both project teams and stakeholders.Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).Excellent presentation skills.High emotional intelligence.Ability to organise and keep to task, even with competing priorities.Able to work effectively within a team and autonomously.Experience in project scheduling software (either Microsoft Project / Primavera).Experience in project finance management software (SAP).Key ExperienceDemonstrated experience managing and successfully delivering operational technology (SCADA, IICATS, IoT, hydrometrics, flowmeters) projects and programs.Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in different project delivery approaches, including waterfall, SCRUM & SaFE and Iterative/Incremental.Knowledge of current best practice in the delivery of IT solutions, project management methodologies and their application to IT projects.Experience in executing project management processes.
