Physiotherapist (Grade 2) - Paediatrics

We have a rare opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Grade 2 Physiotherapist to join our Paediatric and Neonatal Team at Western Health in the Joan Kirner Women's and Children's Hospital.About the roleFixed term, part time, parental leave cover (45.6 hours/fortnight until November 2025).
Additional hours up to full time may be available with this contract.Five weeks of annual leave/year.Generous PD allowance and annual skills incentive payment.Opportunity to participate in continuous quality improvement projects within our paediatric physiotherapy team.Working in the paediatric team, you will use your neurodevelopmental paediatric and neonatal physiotherapy skills to deliver best care to a variety of complex client cohorts.
The role includes inpatient and outpatient management of preterm and medically complex infants, infants with genetic or neurological conditions, and children presenting with developmental delay.
The caseload is focused on the 0-2yo age group.
Depending on your areas of experience and interest, this role may include service provision on the Children's ward, in the Special Care Nursery, and in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
The role also includes outpatient clinics and onwards referrals to appropriate community and NDIS services.
The Paediatric and Newborn Services Unit has a strong focus on patient-centred and goal-directed care across the Multidisciplinary team, achieving excellent outcomes for patients and their families.Learning and development are integral to the culture of our physiotherapy department, and we will support you to build your clinical, supervision, and leadership skills.
We will encourage you to participate in our Research and Quality program and contribute to our stream portfolios and department committees.
Physiotherapists at Western Health are also encouraged in career development and planning through the Allied Health workforce development program.To be Successful in this Role you willHave well-developed clinical skills for working with children and families in inpatient and/or outpatient settings.
