Role Overview: As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of complex civil engineering projects, with a focus on land development, road design, and stormwater drainage systems. You will utilize your expertise in 12D, DRAINS, AutoCAD, AutoTurn, and MUSIC to develop efficient and effective engineering solutions that meet client and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Design Leadership: Lead the design and documentation of civil engineering projects, including land subdivisions, road networks, drainage systems, and water-sensitive urban design (WSUD) features.Technical Proficiency: Utilize advanced skills in 12D, DRAINS, AutoCAD, AutoTurn, and MUSIC to create detailed design models, drawings, and simulations that optimize project outcomes.Project Management: Oversee the planning, scheduling, and coordination of design tasks to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.Quality Assurance: Review and approve design work, ensuring compliance with relevant Australian standards, local government regulations, and best practices.Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to understand project requirements, provide technical advice, and deliver tailored solutions.Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers and designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.Sustainability Focus: Integrate WSUD principles and sustainable design practices into projects to enhance environmental outcomes and compliance with industry standards.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs meet the requirements of local councils, VicRoads, and other relevant authorities, and manage the preparation and submission of necessary documentation.Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.10+ years of experience in civil design, with a strong focus on land development, road design, and drainage design.Proficiency in 12D, DRAINS, AutoCAD, AutoTurn, and MUSIC software is essential.Comprehensive knowledge of Australian design standards, guidelines, and local government regulations.Proven track record of successfully delivering complex civil engineering projects in a consulting environment.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.Chartered Engineer status (CPEng) or eligibility for Chartered status with Engineers Australia is highly desirable.A commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability in engineering design.What We Offer: Competitive salary package and benefits.Opportunities for career advancement in a growing and dynamic consultancy.A supportive and inclusive workplace culture that values diversity and innovation.Access to ongoing professional development and training opportunities.The chance to work on high-profile projects that contribute to Melbourne's urban development.How to Apply: If you are a motivated and experienced Design Engineer with a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions, we encourage you to apply.
