The Cyber Security Division, within the Technology and Digital Programs Group is responsible for protecting the payments and services we deliver on behalf of government to the Australian community.
We undertake the following:
Protect and defend access to our services 24x7 in our world-class Cyber Security Operations Centre.
Protect the information systems of our shared services clients.
Protect our networks and secure our data to mitigate current and future cyber security risks.
Provide cyber security advice and support to business areas in the development and expansion of services.
Work collaboratively with the broad cyber security community, nationally and internationally, to share information, ensure best practice and enhance cyber security strategies.
Raise awareness of cyber security with agency staff and the wider community.
Cyber Security Penetration Tester specialists are responsible for testing and investigating security infrastructure within an organisation.
They analyse IT systems to determine configuration weaknesses and faults that could affect security and business.
Penetration Testers/Experts conduct cyber penetration testing and vulnerability assessment activities.
These can be quite complex and highly sensitive depending on the role.
They simulate different types of cyber security attacks and develop penetration testing methodologies.
They also:
Promote/lead the delivery of flexible, quality service to improve customer experience.
Work under the limited/broad direction of senior staff to deliver results.
Make ethical, evidence-based decisions using sound judgement.
Anticipate and respond/manage stakeholder relationships to ensure positive outcomes.
