An exciting opportunity to join a leading Global Financial Services company with a diverse portfolio of national and international clients, they are now seeking an experienced Head of Tax to lead the tax function and drive the strategic management of tax compliance, reporting, and advisory.
This is a senior leadership role within the organisation, providing you with the opportunity to shape and develop the tax strategies for the business.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all aspects of tax compliance, reporting, and advisory within the financial services sector.Manage a team of accounting staff.Lead the preparation and review of tax returns and financial statements, ensuring full compliance with ATO regulations and financial reporting standards.Manage the use of tax software, including APS, Handi Soft, Class Super, and XERO, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of tax-related data.Act as the subject matter expert on tax-related issues, providing guidance and strategic advice to senior management and key stakeholders.Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) via the ATO Portal for all relevant tax matters, ensuring compliance and timely submissions.Provide oversight and training to the tax team, promoting continuous improvement and maintaining high-quality tax practices.Stay current with Australian tax law changes and industry developments to ensure proactive management of tax risks.Your Profile: Proven experience in a senior management tax role, within the financial services industry.Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax legislation, compliance, and reporting requirements.Expertise in tax software systems such as APS, Handi Soft, Class Super, and XERO.Experience with FBT and ESS is desirable.Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior management and external stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on strategic tax planning and risk management.Experience with ATO Portal and a deep understanding of ATO compliance processes.Why Join Our Client?
