The Assistant Director of Engagement and Communications will oversee internal, external, and digital communications, manage the flagship website, and drive strategic stakeholder engagement.
This role requires a dynamic professional with a passion for building collaborative relationships, identifying communication opportunities, and elevating the organisation's brand.
You'll lead a multidisciplinary team, manage resources effectively, and contribute to maintaining the organisation's reputation as a trusted regulator.
About the Client: This independent Australian Government regulator ensures the safety, quality, and efficacy of agricultural and veterinary chemicals.
They take a proactive approach to engaging with stakeholders, promoting best practices, and safeguarding public and environmental health.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership : Lead a team to deliver high-quality communications aligned with organisational goals.
Strategy Development : Develop and implement communication strategies to enhance stakeholder engagement and reputation management.
Brand and Media Management : Oversee corporate branding, media relations, and digital platforms, including the flagship website.
Collaboration : Foster productive relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment of goals.
Risk Management : Address communication risks and opportunities to protect and enhance the organisation's reputation.
Procurement Oversight : Manage contracts and align staff expertise with the communication workload.
Key Experience Required: Proven experience in developing and implementing communication strategies.
Demonstrated expertise in team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and transitioning to modern communication practices.
Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Comprehensive understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Framework.
Desirable Skills: Qualifications or experience in communications, public relations, or media.
Background in science, regulation, or public health is highly regarded.
