The goal is to unlock the full potential in each colleague – empowering our people to grow as insurance professionals and add more value to our customers and AIG.How you will create an impactAs an Inland Marine Underwriter at AIG you will be a key contributor to the existing portfolio and future growth of the portfolio.
You will work closely with the Head of Inland Marine, Pacific in developing and enhancing underwriting and broker relationship skills.Key accountabilities will include but are not limited to:Responsible for the achievement of budgeted production objectives of the Marine Profit Centre.Assist in handling all aspects of the Processing and Administration of Marine Profit Centre.Liaise with Manager to facilitate provision of production estimates.Timely completion of monthly reporting of production and development activity.Maintenance of activity records of quotations and strike rates.Develop individual production budgets and visitation schedules.Assist in the implementation of business plans.Maintain agreed production targets by establishing accurate target listings.Risk Assessment and underwriting of Renewal Business.Identification and underwriting of New Business.Preparation and issuance of Policy wording documentation.Completion and issuance of documentation in accordance with corporate guidelines.Referral of Renewal or New Business to Regional Product Line Manager as required.Maintain the integrity of all underwriting disciplines of all Marine business.Ensure the maintenance of solid working relationships with all major clients and brokers.Identification of business opportunities for other profit centres.Liaise with administration staff and other services to ensure support standards.What you'll need to succeedRelevant experience in the Marine market.Experience in Inland Marine with a willingness to develop an understanding of Marine Cargo and Marine Liability.Experience of understanding and executing underwriting guidelines preferred.Willingness to develop strong broker relationships.Results oriented with strong negotiation skills.Influencing and relationship building skills.Ability to work across multiple areas of the company.Strategic orientation and managing vision.Reimagining insurance to make a bigger difference to the worldAmerican International Group, Inc.
