Our Opportunity
Work Location: Cloudbreak mine site (Chichester Hub)
Fortescue's Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples
Roster: 14D/14R FIFO ex. Perth, Karratha, Broome, Port Hedland
Reporting to the Superintendent Mechanical Maintenance, this exciting opportunity involves overseeing a team made up of internal fabricator and apprentice, along with embedded contractor fabricators, scaffolders and blast and paint teams.
We are looking for someone with a background in engineering or structural remediation based work to join our team, who has previous experience in a leadership or project management role, with good communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Work with Shutdown team to build execution strategies around structural integrity and schedule accordingly
Review / approve SAP notifications and attend weekly planning meetings
Manage Work Order Backlog
Short term planning to align with yearly structural remediation plan
Ensure compliance to operating strategy and defect removal plan
Meet with structural engineers to prioritise structural defect elimination and document / provide evidence once removed for closure
Meet all responsibilities as outlined in the Health, Safety and Environment Policies;
Ensure team skills, knowledge and qualification meet business requirements and legislation.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 2-5 years' experience in Mining/Heavy Industrial environment
Experience as a Maintenance Supervisor role, or similar leadership position
Experience working with safety management systems
Knowledge of Mines Regulations and Act and Occupational, Health and Safety legislation and other relevant legislation and regulations
Engineering Degree or Trade Qualification
Competency in SAP (preferred)
Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Project, Word, Power Point (Essential)
Good leadership skills with ability to positively influence people to achieve their targets
High level written and verbal communication skills
