The HMC Group has extensive aviation, tourism, and accommodation operations in some of the most iconic regions of Australia and is seeking to appoint a Group Safety Coordinator to assist with all aspects related to the Group Safety Management Systems.The HMC Group currently has offices in Perth, Kununurra, Broome, Karratha, and Adelaide, and has an expanding team of approaching 400 employees, with further and substantial business growth forecast over the next five years.The HMC Group is a collection of quality businesses under common ownership and has expanded rapidly in both geographic location and size of operations over the past 8 years.Enterprises within the Group include:Nexus Airlines – Western Australia's newest regional airline, servicing Western Australia and beyond.Aviair - One of Australia's largest and leading fixed wing general aviation operators with charter, scheduled services and scenic flights operating throughout the Kimberley and Pilbara regions for corporate, mining, government and tourism clients.HeliSpirit – HeliSpirit offers tourism helicopter services from eleven spectacular locations in the Kimberley, Pilbara, and Goldfields regions, as well as a range of corporate and charter helicopter services in the north west of WA.Australian Helicopter Academy - Providing commercial helicopter pilot training.Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge & Guided Tours - Eco-accommodation in the heart of Purnululu National Park & Guided walking tours with a focus on indigenous training and employment whilst also providing authentic indigenous tourism experiences.Freshwater East Kimberley Apartments - Kununurra's leading accommodation offering with sixty resort style apartments.The PumpHouse Restaurant – an iconic Kununurra dining establishment on the banks of the Ord River offering a quality dining option to locals and visitors alike.Kimberley Experiences – providing specialist and personalised Kimberley travel itineraries by highly experienced travel designers.About the roleReporting to the Group Aviation Safety Manager, the role of Group Safety Coordinator will be primarily responsible for assisting with the day-to-day coordination of safety-related aspects of the Safety department.Key Duties and Responsibilities include:Assist the Aviation Group Safety Manager to manage the operation of the Safety Management System, including safety promotion, safety management, and safety assurance.Process safety reports and assist in the coordination of safety investigations in all stages.Coordinate and deliver Safety Department training (including Safety Management System, Emergency Response, Drug & Alcohol Management Plan), prepare training certificates/registers, upload recency items to the recency management software, and ensure that any re-currency training is completed prior to expiry.Manage administration duties in line with the operation of group safety, including but not limited to minute taking, organizing and maintaining safety records such as reports, investigations, audits, and relevant documentation, and ensuring that safety manuals are updated to align with current regulations and internal policies.Educate personnel on their roles and responsibilities within the ERP and Emergency Control Organisation (ECO).Coordinate pre-employment DAMP tests and upload them into recency management software.Assist in the continued establishment of the Hazard Register and Operational Risk Register.Promote safety awareness and a positive safety culture by ensuring safety-related information is communicated to all personnel through established communication.Maintain DAMP Supervisor training and under instruction from the Group Aviation Safety Manager, conduct DAMP testing.Assist in ensuring compliance with the Safety Management System manual suite and inform the Group Aviation Safety Manager when there are anomalies and/or improvements.Participate in audits as required.Promote a "Just Culture."To be successful in this role:Safety Management experience.Previous aviation industry experience is advantageous but not essential.Understanding of risk management principles and techniques to support a proactive Safety Management System.Experience and recognised qualifications in conducting safety/quality audits and investigations is desired.Proficient in Excel and Power BI for data manipulation, report generation, and dashboard creation, enabling enhanced data analysis and visualisation.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate confidently and positively with a wide range of people/cultural diversity.Efficient in the MS Office suite.Demonstrated excellent written communication and computer skills.Knowledge of document procedure design and document control experience is advantageous.To apply, please submit a cover letter and resume outlining your relevant qualifications and experience.Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.#J-18808-Ljbffr
