We are looking for an Instrument and Control Technician to join our team at Yarnima Power Station in Newman, Western Australia.
This role is working an 8 on 6 off roster both days and nights.
The Yarnima Power Station is located in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia approximately 3km from the town of Newman.
Yarnima has an installed output capacity of 198MW and consists of 3 x Siemens' SGT-800 Gas Turbines, 3 x Heat Recovery Boilers and 2 Siemens' SST-400 Condensing Steam Turbines.

Fuel Gas Pressure ReductionWater Treatment PlantCooling Tower circuits for the Steam TurbinesControl RoomHV & LV Switch roomsEmergency Diesel GeneratorsDiesel Forwarding SystemsAs an I&C Technician you will maintain high levels of routine, preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance across the power station.

What you'll do Perform planned preventative maintenance routines and make performance checks as required.Actively promote a safe working environment.Effectively use systems, processes, and resources to meet Worley and our customer's business objectives.Identify and implement process improvements.Foster and maintain a positive HSE culture, ensuring compliance with Worley's HSE standards.Perform technical procedures and inspections in line with QA requirements.Review, update and develop work instructions and procedures.Assess risks and hazards related to tasks and implement strategies to mitigate them and prevent incidents and injuries.Work closely with other onsite teams including suppliers, consultants and contractors.Collaborate with the work group JHA's and risk assessments for tasks being undertaken.What you'll have Strong communication skills to interact effectively with all levels of the organisation including customers.Control systems experience.Certificate IV in instrumentation and control or equivalent trade qualification.Previous experience within the Power industry.Knowledge of establishing and applying management systems, processes, and tools.Class A electrical licence.Type B gas appliance experience.Hazardous area competency certificate highly desirable.Comprehensive knowledge of site HSE legislation and a commitment to duty of care.Proficiency in DCS and PLC's.Ability to build and maintain working relationships based on mutual respect and trust.Excellent prioritisation and organisation skills.Desirable Demonstratable networking experience.Knowledge of plant communication protocols (Modbus/Profibus/IEC61850 etc.
