Always putting our clients' needs first, we've helped evaluate and implement new and emerging technologies to help develop the grid of the future and power a more sustainable world.Location Available: Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and PerthRole Summary:PSC is seeking enthusiastic, technically oriented engineer(s) with relevant power systems studies experience to join our Australia-based team.
The candidate's primary expertise should be in power systems analysis and studies that model the behaviour of power systems and their various components under steady state and perturbed conditions.Key Responsibilities:Conduct power system analysis and generator connection feasibility studiesPrepare detailed technical reportsMentor, coach and develop junior engineersCoordinate and execute studies globally with PSC colleaguesManage client expectations through regular communications and responsivenessMinimum Expertise:Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering is required with a preference for a specialisation in power systemsExpertise in power systems analysis in generation, transmission and/or distribution systems using network simulation software, particularly PSSE, PSCAD and/or DIgSILENT PowerFactoryExperience in classical power system analysis & modelling including load flow, transient stability, short circuit analysis, and small signal assessmentsPower generation and transmission studies such as generator connections, voltage stability, feasibility studies, power station and control system design, and network planningSteady state and transient model development, testing, and field validation of the performance of generator control modelsPreparation of long-term, multi-scenario network development plansGood knowledge of grid connection policies and particularly Australian National Electricity Rules (NER)Preferred Expertise:Ability to work to deadlines and exceed client expectationsMinimum 1-3 years of consultancy experiencePython programmingExcellent written and verbal communication skills – in particular, clear and unambiguous email and technical document writingExcellent presentation skills to support and represent PSC in industry forums, working groups and conferences as well as client presentationsAsk us about our amazing cultureWe:Know that our people are our greatest asset, and we truly celebrate and value peopleAlso celebrate bright ideas, individuality, and autonomyHave an entrepreneurial spirit, embrace new ideas and are always looking to improveUnderstand that everyone has a personal life and provide an extremely flexible work environmentProvide amazing growth and leadership opportunities in an autonomous roleOffer competitive compensation, great benefits, and development opportunitiesIf you are ready to take the next step, Apply NowWe're an equal opportunity employer.
