About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Investigation Specialist, the Investigation Specialist will be primarily responsible for leading "no blame" safety investigations relating to the most serious or high potential severity incidents across the ARTC network.
The role will be instrumental in identifying learnings and working collaboratively with the investigation team to continually improve ARTC safety and environmental performance.
About You
Your background as a safety professional in conjunction with your experience investigating and determining the underlying causes of serious safety incidents will give you the ideal grounding for this role.
You believe in a just and fair culture and take a 'no blame' mindset into the investigation, recognising that incidents are usually the result of a chain of events, rather than the isolated actions of an individual.
To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:
Sound knowledge and demonstrated experience with incident investigation, ICAM facilitation, report writing, data analysis, reporting tools and Microsoft Office business software.
Demonstrated communication (written and verbal), facilitation and interpersonal skills.
Ability to interpret and apply Rail and/or WHS legislation as it relates to ARTC.
Demonstrated ability to work alone, unsupervised, use discretion and sound judgement in dealing with issues as necessary.
Qualifications in WHS or Rail Safety discipline or relevant industry experience highly desirable.
