About the role We are currently looking for a Lawyer (2-4 year PQE) to join our innovative Dispute Resolution & Litigation team.
In this role you will be involved in a diverse range of commercial disputes, mediation and litigation, with a focus on competition and consumer law matters, general commercial and contractual disputes, corporations law matters, regulatory investigations and prosecutions for a broad range of private and public sector clients.
In particular, this role will have a focus on working on a mix of medium to large frequently complex and high-profile matters for clients with national, consumer-facing businesses in various industries.
The work is complex and challenging and will see you working closely with leading partner Shaun Temby, and alongside other exceptional litigators and like-minded professionals in a collaborative team environment.
You will be recognised for personal achievements and receive mentoring from senior team members to ensure your professional skills continue to grow and develop.
About you Ideally, you will have solid private practice experience, sound knowledge of court practice and processes, and you will be confident in utilising your proven analytical and drafting skills.
Someone who is commercially minded and has a client-focused attitude will find themselves succeeding in this role.
Experience in matters involving issues arising under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and ACCC investigations and prosecutions would be preferred.
In addition you will have:
Significant broad commercial litigation experience (advisory, mediation, hearings and litigation)Strong technical, drafting and research skillsImpressive academic qualificationsAn engaging manner with excellent communication skills at all levelsWell-developed negotiation skills and strong attention to detailExperience working autonomouslyStatutory interpretation skillsMaddocks is simply a great place to do great work.
