Fixed Term Part Time 28 hours per week $40.15 - $50.68 Per Hours + Salary Packaging About the role Join the compassionate and skilled team at Gandarra Palliative Care Unit, providing exceptional care for patients and families facing life-limiting illnesses.
Specialising in complex symptom management and end-of-life care, this role offers the opportunity to deliver patient-centred care within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
Plan, deliver, and evaluate evidence-based nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Work across a 7-day roster, including day, afternoon, and night shifts.
Provide leadership through delegation, clinical supervision, and mentoring of healthcare workers.
Contribute to quality healthcare by supporting professional development, research, and guideline creation.
Collaborate with the Nurse Unit Manager to ensure efficient patient flow and achieve organisational KPIs.
Promote nursing leadership and participate in senior roles as delegated.
Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care in collaboration with patients/residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Actively contribute to quality improvement initiatives, research, and the development of clinical guidelines.
Support and mentor staff while fostering a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and respect.
Respond effectively to clinical changes, including escalation of care for deteriorating patients/residents.
Ensure compliance with mandatory training, safety standards, and accreditation requirements.
Manage workloads efficiently, prioritizing care and delegating responsibilities appropriately.
Skills & Experience Current registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA and a valid Practicing Certificate.
Proven clinical knowledge, time management, and organisational skills.
Commitment to ongoing education, professional development, and evidence-based practice.
Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills for collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable: Recent experience or postgraduate qualification in the relevant specialty.
