Based in Sydney, this newly created Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) position presents a great opportunity for an experienced engineer who wants to work for a company that fosters innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL, Azure, and .NET applications, with a focus on reliability, systems monitoring, scalability, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain reliable systems that improve the scalability and performance of applications. Manage and optimise Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness. Develop and maintain SQL databases, including performance tuning and optimisation. Collaborate with development teams to enhance the reliability of .NET applications and ensure seamless deployments. Monitor system performance using industry-standard tools, proactively identifying and resolving issues. Automate manual tasks and create tools to improve operational efficiency. Kubernetes deployment, configuration, and management. Troubleshoot and resolve critical production incidents. Drive best practices in system reliability, security, and scalability. Requirements: Proven experience in a Site Reliability Engineer or similar role. Expertise in SQL database management and optimization. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including Azure DevOps, Application Insights, and infrastructure management. Proficiency in working with .NET applications in production environments. Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, New Relic, or similar). Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git). Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or Bash). Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks. In addition to this, experience with containerisation and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is highly sought after, and experience with service management is essential.
