We are bold, innovative, collaborative, and inspiring.We recognise our strength comes from the diversity of our people and so we encourage people of all genders, ethnicities, ages, abilities, languages, sexual orientation and family responsibilities to apply.We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace for our people and our community.Join us at Metro South Health and be part of a world-class, dynamic and growing health service that embraces technology, excellence in health care, teaching, research and empowering our people to be the best in serving our community.About the RoleProvide inpatient and outpatient care by:Assessing patients, determining, and instigating appropriate investigationsEstablishing management plan for patients in consultation with the consultantWhere appropriate, ensuring discharge planning commences early in the process of care (inpatient only)Communicating assessment findings, proposed management plans and alternatives to patient and carers and seeking consentGathering input from appropriate multidisciplinary team for patient's ongoing clinical careContinually monitoring and reviewing patient progress and adjusting the management plan when necessary; and ensuring timely effective and appropriate clinical handover with other staff and healthcare providersTo provide ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goalsEnsure appropriate and timely communication to the General Practitioner, other health care providers and carers to ensure ongoing patient care post hospital stayAttend tutorials, participate, and present at grand rounds, attend compulsory courses and participate in on-the-job training in order to meet college requirements and develop clinical knowledge and skillsAct as a role model to residents and interns through providing on-the-job guidance and direction and become involved in prevocational educational programsOur values of Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Engagement and Excellence, shape our culture within Metro South Health.
