Assistant Director, Health Grants BranchAustralian Department of Social Services – Perth WAWe are looking for a high performing, experienced leader to fill an Executive Level 1 Assistant Director role in Perth. Assistant Directors in the Hub lead and support staff to:engage regularly with key stakeholders to ensure that programs are being delivered in a way that is consistent with the requirements of the grant agreementbuild networks and relationships with funded organisations, as well as other stakeholders such as the not-for-profit community sector, Commonwealth, state and territory governments, local government, peak representative organisations, and research bodiesgather local intelligence on how programs are being delivered on-the-ground to inform policy development and program re-designdrive team performance and sustain a high performing culture.The key duties of the position include:build productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including other business areas in the Community Grants Hub, state networks, client agencies, Commonwealth state and territory governments, local governments, peak representative organisations, not-for-profit community sectors, service providers, local communities, and research bodiesbuild staff performance, capability and diversity through coaching and supporting staff in their workperform strategic risk management by proactively acting on risks that require mitigation, management and escalationprovide advice and local intelligence on program and provider performance, and risk management and ensuring timely escalation when requiredcontribute to innovation and business improvement strategiesuse various IT systems to monitor and record performance and risk datamaintain knowledge of relevant program guidelines, legislation and policy frameworks.Please review the job pack for the full position description.Getting to know the Department of Social ServicesThe Department of Social Services (DSS) develops policies and delivers programs that support the lifetime wellbeing of Australians and their families.
