RoleA classroom teacher at Thornbury High School is responsible for designing and delivering an educational program for their students which is consistent with the aims and objectives of the School and the Department of Education.
We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and adaptable Science teacher to join our team. The successful applicant will work collaboratively and, with the Science KLA, use their deep understanding of scientific concepts and emerging technologies to inspire student learning, and connect the learning with real world applications. Part of the allotment will include VCE Psychology and/or Biology, dependent on the applicable methods of the successful candidate.
Position responsibilities: Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students;Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school;Creating a calm, positive environment that is conducive to students' learning, in line with the school's student well-being and engagement policies and processes;Assessing the educational development of students, compiling and maintaining records of that development and providing reports to parents/guardians;Being actively involved in the school's professional learning program, including professional learning communities (PLC);Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal;Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; camps and excursions;Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.Conditions apply: Police Check, VIT/WWCC, Child Safety Standards, DET Code of Conduct.
