Physiotherapist Grade 2 - General Medicine and Frailty, Austin Health Permanent, part time 0.6EFT (22.80 hours per week).
$88K-$102K base + salary packaging + super (pro-rata for part time)  Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the north-east of Melbourne and state-wide.

About the department:  The Physiotherapy Department comprises about 112 EFT (Equivalent Full Time) staff at the Austin Hospital, Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital, and the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre.
It provides seven days per week, 12 hours per day services to acute and aged care areas.
There is also a seven day a week primary care service for soft tissue injuries in the Emergency Department  It is a major clinical school for the University of Melbourne with responsibility for about 180 students from 1st through to 3rd year for the Doctorate of Physiotherapy (DPT) course.
The Physiotherapy department is also associated with Swinburne University as a clinical school.
Clinical research is a priority of the department.
About the role:  The Transition and Maintenance physiotherapy clinical stream provides a comprehensive service for all acute inpatients within Austin Health and is integrated within the nationally awarded innovative Austin Acute Physiotherapy workforce model of care.
The General Medicine and Frailty Grade 2 position sits within the Transition and Maintenance clinical stream.
The General Medicine and Frailty Grade 2 works within a general medicine sub-group of Grade 4, 3, 2s and 1 and AHAs across Acute Wards 7West, North, East and 5West and Ward 10 Aged Care Acute ward at Repat Campus.
A regular day will see you:  Triage the general medicine patient referral and caseload, identify physiotherapy problems, provide physiotherapy treatments for patients with clinical frailty, falls risk, functional change and chronic disease management Provide supervision to grade 1 staff and allied health assistants   Provide training to physiotherapy students Assist with in-hospital physiotherapy management of the Transition and Maintenance clinical steam patients when required based on clinical priority of the hospital Participate in active research projects in conjunction with the Physiotherapy department   Complete quality improvement and education project work in alignment with the Physiotherapy department.
About you:  Ideally, you'll have:  At least 3 years' experience working as a clinical physiotherapist, preferably with experience in General Medicine and Aged Care Previous experience in Aged Care and NDIS discharge planning Previous experience in the management of cardio-respiratory chronic disease patients   Previous experience and skills in supervision of staff and training of students Capacity to work well with other members of a multidisciplinary team  Demonstrate clinical, organisational, program development, leadership and evaluation and supervision skills.
