Our Cyber Security Assurance and Operations (CSAO) team is dedicated to maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our ICT systems, supporting the University's mission to enable positive academic, research, and business outcomes.
Based at our Parramatta or Hawkesbury campuses, with remote work options considered, CSAO is integral to our Information Technology and Digital Services unit, managing cyber security risks and incident responses to ensure a secure digital environment.
The Opportunity We are seeking a talented and motivated Cyber Security Risk Analyst to perform and achieve complex information security work.
In this role, you will act as the first point of contact for security advice on the technologies within the University's ICT systems.
A strong focus on customer service and problem-solving will be essential as you identify and resolve ICT security matters with precision and efficiency.
You will research and analyse specific issues related to the security of ICT systems, review documentation, and deliver detailed reporting.
You will play a key role in resolving complex security challenges, applying your expertise to manage strategic projects that have a significant impact on the University's operational outcomes.
With a focus on continuous improvement, you will contribute to the enhancement of processes, procedures, guidelines, and standards, ensuring the University's ICT security practices remain robust and innovative.
In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including security authorities, fostering positive working relationships to address ICT security challenges effectively.
By maintaining up-to-date knowledge of frameworks such as NIST, Essential Eight, and ISO 27001, and applying them to your work, you will ensure compliance and excellence in all areas of ICT security.

About You You are a skilled cyber security professional with a tertiary qualification and extensive experience in Cyber Security or a relevant discipline.
Your deep understanding of the Australian Government Information Security Manual and the Protective Security Policy Framework allows you to confidently interpret and apply these standards, ensuring best practices in ICT security.
Your ability to analyse complex security issues and implement solutions is matched by your well-developed communication and negotiation skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with stakeholders, including senior executives.
You excel at articulating cyber security concepts in both written and verbal forms, making you an effective collaborator across diverse teams and disciplines.
You thrive in an environment where you can work under limited direction, managing competing priorities with accuracy and delivering high-quality results within tight timeframes.
