Start your journey with our exclusive 12-month immersive trainee and apprentice program then a further 12-month traineeship designed to unlock your potential (total 24 months).
This will be your foundation as we continue to support you in achieving your qualification and empower you to shape your future.
This training is proudly funded by the Queensland Government through its Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative.

As a trainee and apprentice of the City, you will have many opportunities available to you:

This is a unique role that will provide hands-on experience in health and safety, including risk assessments, incident investigations, and training.
You will contribute to a positive and productive work environment by promoting safety and well-being.
Identify and assess potential hazards to prevent accidents and injuriesAssist conduct safety training and education to raise awareness and promote a culture of safetyInvestigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions, with supervisionProvide initial support and guidance to employees and managers on health and safety mattersEnsure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and standardsChampion safety by leading by example and inspiring others to prioritise safety.What are we looking for from you Team players who positively contribute and embrace changeHighly motivated and proactive problem solvers who are passionate about safetyA self-starter eager to learn about workplace health and safety and employee wellbeingGood communicators with basic language, literacy and numeracy skills with the ability to effectively communicate, understand and follow instructions in a high-risk environmentSuccessful completion of Year 12.Applicants must have full working rights in Australia for the duration of the qualification and be able to work full-time.
