The Kindergarten Teacher helps our children and families to thrive and build a lifelong attitude to become successful through promoting and living the South St ELC Vision, Philosophy, and Values.
The Kindergarten Teacher's role provides educational experiences and learning to our children and families in collaboration with their team to meet the following:
Proactive member of the team advocating family needs, supporting their needs, their goals or challenges and working on ways to support families as well the child.
Implementing programs that enable South ST ELC to meet the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011, the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and the requirements of the Victorian Kindergarten Policy as well as the VEYLF.
Implementing programs that reflect the South St ELC Philosophy, core values, policies and procedures, encourage the active involvement of families and the local community, and are inclusive of all children's strengths, needs, abilities and interests.
Implementing programs that have a commitment to the active involvement of families and the local community, inclusive of all children's strengths, rights, needs, abilities and interests.
Ensure that confidentiality is respected and maintained.
Develop all communication skills with parents, families, children and educators.
Lead and guide a team of passionate educators and teachers.
Work within budgets, and maintain resources in rooms and throughout the kinder program
Communicate with parents and children and educators effectively, ensuring interactions are supportive of South St ELC Philosophy, Core Values, Code of Conduct, National Quality Standards, and Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics.
Contribute to children's learning through high-quality formal documentation using an Inquiry based program.
Mentor colleagues in effective room routines, structures and learning environments and develop reflective practice discussions supporting the Early Years Learning Framework.
Build trusting relationships with parents and families, supporting and educating families about the educational program and their children's developmental progress.
Engage with members of the community
Work with other early childhood professionals for example maternal and child health nurses and early childhood intervention specialists.
Reflect on community involvement and how the community can influence and support the programs.
Manage Transitions to School for Kindergarten aged children.

Qualifications
What would make me a good candidate?
We are looking for a positive, self-motivated Kindergarten Teacher that is eager to mentor and lead a team.
We also look for the following attributes and experience:
You're motivated by a motivated and active environment where you will have to adapt and care for children individual needs and interests
You have excellent written and verbal English skills as well as a confident manner to resolve family concerns and questions.
You bring excellent customer services skills, demonstrated daily by working efficiently and adapting to the circumstances and schedule of the ELC.
You're able to multi-task, prioritise, and manage time effectively
You show awareness of your own strengths and areas for growth, and a desire to develop and apply new skills
You are a true team player that understands and promotes team work and collaboration.
Current first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma training with certification.
Current Child Protection Training
Current Working with Children Check
Knowledge of current Early Childhood Education and Care best practices in relation to The National Quality Standards, and Early Years Learning and Development Framework, working with the Leader of Teaching and Learning to ensure consistency across the ELC
Knowledge of child development in relation to children's developmental milestones.
