Craniomaxillofacial (CMF) Clinical Design Engineer Full Time – 12 months Fixed Term (Possibility of ongoing position) Chris O'Brien Lifehouse is a fully integrated cancer facility that takes a revolutionary approach to helping those suffering with cancer by bringing together all elements of cancer care, treatment, research, education and emotional support within the one centre of excellence.
Our vision is to transform the treatment of cancer, bringing hope to the lives of cancer patients, their carers and families, and to advance the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of the disease Integrated Prosthetics & Reconstruction (IPR) provides clinician-led point-of-care computer assisted design and additive manufacturing solutions for patients at the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse.
IPR researches, designs, develops, manufactures, and commercialises innovative products for use in connection with craniomaxillofacial reconstruction to improve patient outcomes.
As a Clinical Design Engineer, you will conduct advanced digital planning & 3D printing for CMF reconstruction.
This includes the design and production of patient specific guides, models, dental prostheses, and facial prosthetics.
You will be part of the innovative clinical and research team providing digital solutions and technical support for the IPR team.
SELECTION CRITERIA Essential Qualifications and Skills: Experience in medical applications of Computer Assisted Design (CAD) and Manufacturing (CAM).
Sound knowledge of the TGA regulatory requirements surrounding personalised medical devices.
Ability to successfully manage competing priorities and meet frequently changing deadlines.
Capacity to collaborate successfully with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
High level written and verbal communication skills including liaising with clinicians, development of reports, instructional methods, and guidelines.
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
High level analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills: Experience in the use of Materialise Mimics, 3-Matic, CMF Pro-Plan including design of surgical cutting guides, drill guides and biomodels Experience in Finite element analysis.
