Sydney Water | Investment Analyst

We are seeking a skilled and analytical Investment Analyst to support major strategic, commercial, and investment projects.
The role focuses on developing reusable, user-friendly financial models and analytical tools to enhance investment decisions.
You will not be involved in corporate performance reporting or financial systems planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and review project cost estimates with planners using Sydney Water costing methodology.
Build and maintain structured Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) models in Excel for cost, revenue, land tax, and income tax projections.
Provide insights on key financial drivers, risks, and conduct sensitivity analysis.
Advise project managers and coordinate feedback with the project evaluation Assurance Team.
Develop costing and pricing models for Unregulated Products and Services (e.g., recycled water, renewable energy).
Contribute to improving costing, evaluation, and business case development tools.
Provide financial and commercial analysis for strategic investment decisions, including executive, board papers, and government submissions.
Experience & Skills:
Degree in Business, Economics, or Finance (CPA/CA not required).
Experience in advisory/consulting, investment banking, or large asset-intensive organisations (utilities, energy, telecommunications).
Background in financial assessments and business valuation (ideally infrastructure projects).
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Independent and proactive in managing tasks with a focus on delivering insights.
Essential Requirements:
