Explore more on Cubic.com.Job Details:KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare financials for approval by the Finance directorEffectively communicate with Project Managers (PM), Contract Managers (CM), Engineering Manager (EM) and/or delegates regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional services related to billingAssess and pursue opportunities for maximization of project's financial performanceResearch any financial discrepancies that arise from in-depth variance analysisAssist in internal and external audit requirements; this may include ad-hoc analysisPerform additional assignments, as directed by the Finance Manager, Project Accounting Controller, VP Program Management APACCreate WBS Elements, budgets, ETC's and other project information in SAPLiaise with project and production manager to ensure that all project costs are controlled in a timely mannerPrepare monthly project reports and analysis in accordance with the timetablePrepare billings related to the portfolio of projects in conjunction with contracts and the PMOKeep the Project Manager informed and advise on billings, retentions, debtors and cash flow relating to individual projectsLiaise with financial accounts and ensure that queries are followed upAssist in the preparation of claims and variations including cost models and pricing schedulesAssist in reviewing and generating bid summaries for accuracy and compliance with company rates and mark-upsMeet with Project Managers prior to the monthly review meetings to agree project status including contract values and estimates to completionAttend weekly and monthly review meetingsAssist with the co-ordination & consolidation of annual budgets for CTS AustraliaAssist in the compliance with Sarbanes-OxleyAdvise the Project Accounting Controller of any known variances or problems of significance that may affect the outcome of a projectLiaise with Project Planners, ensuring the reported financial status of the project is in line with the planned operational viewAssist Project Managers in the selection of Sub-ContractorsComply with Cubic's Quality Management SystemComply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and proceduresComply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of the organizationOther duties as requestedKEY REQUIREMENTS (Skills, knowledge, qualifications and experience)QualificationsEssential:Bachelors Degree in an Accounting or Business discipline from a tertiary InstitutionDesirable:CA /CPA/CIMA Qualified is desirable, or Currently studying CA /CPA/CIMASkills/Experience/KnowledgeEssential:Demonstrated +4 years of Project Accounting experience in a project environmentKnowledge and understanding of a project-based environmentAbility to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in prioritiesGood written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skillsAbility to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completionProficient with Microsoft Office 2007 including advanced Excel skillsDesirable:Experience in SAP and Primavera would be viewed favorablyExperience in Earned Value Reporting would be viewed favorablyPersonal QualitiesMust have excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interface with employees at all levelsBe ambitiousBe enthusiasticBe self-motivatedHave strong attention to detailHave the ability to prioritize their workload#L1-HV1Worker Type:EmployeeCompetitive salary and a broad range of employee benefits
