The Control, Automation & Electrical Group is a Hatch global practice providing engineering design expertise to Hatch's metals and minerals, infrastructure, and energy business units.

Our team in Brisbane is currently seeking expressions of interest from Experienced Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Engineers to assist with a recent sustained growth in workload, both nationally and internationally.
Candidates with experience in instrumentation, control systems, electrical systems (ranging from lighting & small power, motor control, vendor package integration through to power generation) and HV distribution systems should not hesitate to apply.
You will be involved in preparing discipline design, studies, calculations, and documentation, and given the opportunity to manage discipline-specific projects of various sizes from small upgrades to major capital works.
Your responsibilities will include:
Determining project scope and definitionPreparing proposals for submission to clientsPreparing EPCM, capital estimates, and project schedulesProviding key discipline input to multi-discipline project teamsParticipating in formal engineering review processesProvision of on-site construction and commissioning technical supportWe are ideally looking for individuals who possess the following qualifications and skills:
A degree in engineering, with demonstrated experience and ability to apply for CPEng statusExcellent attitude towards safety and a demonstrated ability to comply with safety requirementsDemonstrated design and engineering experience in one or more of the following sectors:Utilities (e.g.
power and water)Renewable energyMetals and mineralsInfrastructureHeavy industryDemonstrated capability in the investigation, planning, and supervision of construction works and/or maintenance activities in operational facilitiesCurrent knowledge of industry or regulatory standards and study criteria pertinent to electrical engineering, ensuring compliance of design work with all relevant engineering standards and internal proceduresAbility to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients on a technical and interpersonal levelThey should also have significant depth of experience in one or more of the following areas:
Design and specification of power systems, switchboards, motor control, electrical installations (incl.
lighting) and associated cablingRenewable energy installations and power system integrationDesign and specification of instrumentation and control systemsAdvanced Process Control and/or Functional SafetyIndustrial communications infrastructure designLanguage skills in addition to English (especially French, Mandarin, Spanish) would be well regarded.
