Department: Tech CDIS Cloud, Data and AnalyticsDivision: TechnologyLocation: SydneyAbout UsAt ANZ, we're applying new ways technology and data can be harnessed as we work towards a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.Our community of over 5,000 engineers is key to making this happen, because technology underpins every part of our business - from delivering tools, apps and services for our customers, to building a bank for the future.About the RoleAs a Cloud Engineer, OpenShift/Kubernetes in our CDIS - CPaaS team, you'll work on missions that excite you, including developing and running the platforms that run the services which help our customers get on top of their money while using the latest tech stacks.Role Type: PermanentRole Location: Sydney, Melbourne or BrisbaneWork Hours: Full time (Hybrid)What will your day look like?As an Engineer, you'll be working as part of a high performing cross-functional team that focuses on implementing, maintaining and running the CPaaS (Container Platform based around Red Hat's Openshift) platforms which includes automation (infrastructure developer), Git driven operations, Audit/Compliance, Life Cycle Management, platform upgrades and accelerating the adoption of container technologies.Your typical day will cover:Kube / Openshift cluster install and deployment along with cluster management / maintenanceManaging infrastructure using config as codeWriting infrastructure management code, deploying changes as codePlatform user assistance and troubleshootingSite Reliability improvement and validation activities (SRE type activities)Composable Infrastructure automation and managementProduction incident support, including problem resolution and root cause analysisWhat will you bring?To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:A hunger for new skills, knowledge and experiencesExcellent communication and technical consulting skillsGreat knowledge of Kubernetes (ideally openshift, but not mandatory)A self-starter that enjoys a challenge and working in an agile environmentSomeone who takes pride in their work and can work individually and as part of a teamSomeone who can develop solutions with the customer in mindRedHat Openshift Administration Certification in Ver 4.12 or equivalent experienceExcellent SRE / High availability, scalable & resilience Container Solution skillsExcellent understanding of DevOps, automated configuration management and CI/CD tooling such as Helm, CodeFresh and ArgoCDUnderstanding of container and microservices deployment patterns and Kube securityAbility to approach and resolve complex Linux and Kubernetes interdependencies, especially networkingExperience in Kube or OCP Admin and Cluster upgrades – With OpenShift 4 being highly advantageousExperience in troubleshooting incidents and working customer requestsKnowledge of Public cloud such as GCP, AWS, GKE is desirable, but not mandatoryAbility to build strong and influential stakeholder relationshipsWorking knowledge of experience Splunk and Prometheus is advantageous, as are scripting/programming experienceYou're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
