Our client, a globally recognised leader in the mining sector, is seeking a Telecommunications Engineer (12M Renewable Contract) to join their growing team.
This is not a FIFO position; however, occasional domestic travel may be required for on-site support.
The primary focus of this role will be ensuring the ongoing health and continuity of the existing telecommunications infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Perform daily health checks on telecommunications infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
Analyse and report on trends related to equipment health, functionality, and performance.
Update monitoring tools to incorporate newly commissioned infrastructure and systems.
Coordinate and support contractors and internal staff during on-site works, ensuring smooth execution.
Attend site to troubleshoot technical faults, conduct ad-hoc maintenance, or support project work as needed.
Review, interpret, and update documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Develop test plans and manage the execution of change management processes.
Requirements
Extensive experience and expertise in: Analogue radio systems Digital radio systems (DMR) Point-to-Point microwave systems Point-to-Multipoint systems Building Management Systems (BMS) UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems Solar power systems Experience with IP-based phone systems, IP networks, and network management systems is highly desirable.
Proven experience in the design, installation, commissioning, and change management of telecommunications systems, in both on-site and remote environments.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities, with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
Minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience.
Recognised qualifications in telecommunications engineering, communications, or a related field.
Registered ACMA cabling license is preferred.
