The Senior Manager, Business Continuity & Physical Security Operations is responsible for leading the implementation and maintenance of our business continuity strategies.
The role requires a proactive individual who can work cross-functionally to ensure Rest can continue to operate in the face of disruptions.
The Senior Manager is experienced in risk assessment, emergency response planning, and business impact analysis.
This role is also responsible for the physical security operations of Rest, ensuring the safeguarding of our people.
In addition:
Coordinate with Head of Business Resilience in Line 2 and Head of IT Operations to develop, test, and maintain business unit-specific continuity plans. Conduct regular business continuity drills and exercises as per the testing schedule provided by Head of Business Resilience in Line 2 to validate the effectiveness of recovery strategies. Support the business in developing and maintaining Rest's business continuity plan and procedures to ensure the rapid recovery of business operations in the event of an incident. Liaise with IT on disaster recovery efforts and align technology recovery strategy with business continuity objectives. Support the business to enact their recovery strategies during business interruptions and emergencies. Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers involved in business continuity & physical security operations efforts. Prepare and present reports for senior management detailing business continuity readiness and physical security operations. Ensure physical security operations are managed well to safeguard Rest employees and visitors to our offices. Provide coaching and leadership to the Manager, Business Continuity & Physical Security Operations. Support the General Manager, Strategic Procurement & Workplace with other business projects/initiatives from time to time. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in business, emergency management, or related field required.
Required experience, understanding or credentials including:
Extensive experience in business continuity planning, disaster recovery, physical security operations, or a similar role within a complex organizational environment – financial services experience preferred. CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional) or MBCI (Member of the Business Continuity Institute) certification would be highly regarded. Strong understanding of business processes and strategies with the ability to identify and address operational risks. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines. Proficient with business continuity planning software and tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Understanding of risk management and compliance frameworks, SPS232 – including upcoming prudential standards, eg.
CPS230. Demonstrated ability to manage the physical security operations and safeguarding requirements in organisations. Experience in managing multiple projects and prioritising competing deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work in an environment requiring attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
