About the Team Our Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains.
With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets.
The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community.
About the Opportunity Lead and supervise a multi-skilled delivery works group to deliver work allocated by the Maintenance Supervisor Port Waratah to appropriate standards to ensure the operational integrity and efficiency of a designated location or section within a defined rail corridor.
Ensure mandatory systematic inspection, examination, condition monitoring and functional checks on the rail infrastructure and take appropriate action to ensure rail infrastructure is in a safe operational condition, including recording and reporting of defective infrastructure to maintain a valid defect recording system.

Promote and encourage a positive work culture within the team.
Ensure compliance with ARTC's Safety Management System (SMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements, responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities.
Supervise employee and external contractor performance and productivity.
Determine appropriate resource allocation including personnel, plant and material allocation and prioritisation.
Assist the Maintenance Supervisor Port Waratah in the overall planning of works.
