Support Workers – Home and Community

Purpose
We are currently seeking enthusiastic, motivated and respectful individuals to assist our clients with activities of daily living incl.
personal care, social support, domestic assistance and respite in their home and community.
Roles exist for:
Qualified Disability Support Workers & Mental Health Workers who have experience working with people in a residential & community setting.
Whilst our clients have a diverse range of support needs your experience dealing with:- Parkinson's, MSA, Physical disabilities, MH, addictions, ADHD, autism and complex behaviours will be highly regarded.

We currently have several vacancies across the Mid North Coast
Wauchope Rural – High care
Supporting an intelligent, creative & enthusiastic female participant in her home & community.
Monday to Sunday - AM and PM available, (4 - 8 hour shifts, plus over night support as required)
2-4 days per week of social and community access incl medical appointments
Your knowledge of Parkinson, MSA will be highly regarded
Lake Cathie
Supporting a female participant in her home & community
Monday to Sunday - AM and PM available incl.
Night sleepovers (inactive)
Please note a sleepover rate applies.
2-4 sessions per week of social and community access (2hrs per session)
Wauchope & Port Macquarie
Enthusiastic participants requiring support to live their best lives.
Monday to Sunday 2-4 sessions per week of social and community access (2-6rs per session)
Dynamic engaging activities requiring physical fitness.
Duties & Responsibilities
Supporting clients in the pursuit of their goals & interests
Residential support including personal & domestic assistance, meal prep, companionship, manual handling, and medication administration.
Social and recreational support, support to attend appointments NB: this includes driving the supported person in your car (travel reimbursed)
Support participants to build capacity.
Record Keeping
Key Selection Criteria – Qualifications and requirements
Qualification in Disability, Mental Health, Allied Health or working towards completion (a certificate and transcript must be provided)
Experience supporting clients with diverse diagnosis, highly regarded Parkinson's, MSA, Physical disabilities, MH, addictions, ADHD and autism.
A valid criminal records check (issued within the last 12 months)
Current First Aid Certificate incl.
CPR
A current driver's licence with access to a reliable & insured motor vehicle.
Covid-19 vaccination status
Personal Attributes

A desire to support & contribute to the team
Understanding of safe work practices
Ability to work independently, maintaining the privacy/confidentiality of our clients
Availability to work across a 7 day roster.
Roles at Lake Cathie and West of Wauchope require, evening and possible sleepover shifts
For rural roles a 4WD MV would be advantageous
