About the Opportunity An opportunity has become available for a Laboratory based Clinical Microbiologist is available at the central Clinpath laboratory on a full time or part time basis.
Regular shifts will be rostered in Microbiology, Serology and Molecular laboratory.

The Sonic laboratory network nationally convene within each discipline to ensure that our processes are up to date, streamlined and best practice, as well as to provide all pathologists with Continuing Medical Education.

The successful applicant will have comprehensive experience and training in Laboratory Microbiology including Bacteriology, Parasitology, Mycology, Serology, Virology and Molecular Biology.
Proficiency in result interpretation, liaison with clinicians to undertake clinical consultations and scientific staff across all Clinpath Laboratories is expected.
The successful candidate will have exceptional written and spoken communication, will be providing close supervision and guidance to the laboratory staff and will in turn be guided by the Director of Infectious Diseases Laboratory, Dr J Roy.
Other responsibilities will include review of quality control, quality assurance programme, participation in relevant educational and research activities, and advice on Infection control and antibiotic stewardship in hospital settings and in house WHS issues.
Participation in the afterhours on call roster is required.
The successful applicant will be a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (Microbiology) and hold Specialist Registration with AHPRA.
