SEQH (South East Queensland Hauliers) is a transport and logistics company, specializing in wharf logistics.
We pride ourselves on being a full-service wharf logistics provider.
At the core of our business, we move import and export containerized cargo.
Additional services expand to warehousing, biosecurity, customs, heavy haulage, break bulk & LCL cartage, log export packing, and bulk tipper related work.
Our operations commenced in 1956, and the current owner took over in 1997.
SEQH remains a privately-owned company that is headquartered in Hemmant (Brisbane) with a second facility in Wellcamp (Toowoomba).
We are seeking a competent leader that displays detailed knowledge across our Workshop with strong leadership skills and is confident in developing people and systems.
What is the Role?As a Workshop Manager, your main objective is to lead a team of 20+ people and oversee the efficient operation of a workshop responsible for a fleet of transport vehicles, including trucks, trailers, and forklifts.

Key Responsibilities:Guide, mentor, and motivate the workshop team, fostering a culture of excellence, efficiency, and continuous improvement.Oversee day-to-day management of the workshop, including people management, work allocation, scheduling, timesheet approval, material tracking, and job tracking.
Ensure all projects are delivered efficiently and safely, maintaining adherence to quality standards.Set KPIs and repair targets for the team.Oversee workflows and data to ensure tasks are assigned to the right people at the right time.Continuously improve processes to optimize efficiency and service delivery.Manage BNE Workshop in collaboration with two other 2IC Managers.Manage Toowoomba Workshop in conjunction with Toowoomba Manager.To Succeed in This Role, You Should Have:Proven management experience in a Mechanical or Logistics environment.Strong leadership and communication skills—able to have tough conversations when needed.Expertise in managing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Previous experience in Automotive, Heavy Commercial Vehicle, or Machinery environments.Strong commercial acumen at the departmental level.High-level understanding of service/repair department processes, policies, and procedures.Mechanical and/or auto electrical experience (desirable, but not required).A solid grasp of productivity and efficiency within a workshop setting.The ability to build strong relationships and consistently exceed expectations.A passion for continuous improvement and process optimization.What's in It for You?A role within a growing and highly recognized company.Clear direction and company expectations from the start.Ongoing support from management, the safety team, and HR.A collaborative and supportive team environment.Free onsite parking.Employee assistance program.Competitive salary + Vehicle options (negotiable for the right candidate).As we expect a high volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
