Seeking a driven Project Officer to work in a passionate team to make a positive influence on sustainable water outcomes across regional Queensland locations.
The Department
The Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water (DRDMW) drives growth for Queensland by managing sustainable water resources, leading innovation in manufacturing, and developing our regions.
From our offices in Brisbane and a network of regional offices and manufacturing hubs, more than 700 DRDMW staff work to create a Queensland where communities, businesses and water resources are sustainable and resilient.
The position can be based in Brisbane or a flexible regional location to facilitate an adaptive and agile workforce.
The Project Officer is responsible for coordinating and providing business support to the Director (Water Planning and Science) and their management team by coordinating the provision of administration, human resource, finance reporting and other activities as required.
Key Accountabilities:
Provide effective administrative support for the operations of the business unit such as human resource, financial and operational service support, including correspondence management.
Other duties include maintaining central email accounts and diary management, acting as secretariat for meetings, booking travel, and communicating financial reporting updates.
Use corporate information technology, filing and financial systems to support financial management including coordination of purchase order and invoice approvals, sound record keeping, and the timely delivery of ministerial correspondence using MECS.
Provide advice to the Director, management team, and other regional project officers regarding workflow management, project delivery status and service delivery issues across the Water Management and Use, South Region workforce.
Collate data and provide accurate input to the preparation of reports and correspondence.
Establish and maintain professional networks with internal and external stakeholders by keeping an open and effective line of communication.
Develop and maintain appropriate project management and reporting systems and identify opportunities which will add value to the business needs.
Perform accurate document and record management activities, including hardcopy and electronic file management.
About You
There are no mandatory requirements for this role however, experience in the use of MECS, Aurion, SAP, or any other information system reporting tools would be highly regarded.
Possess excellent communication, project administration, diary and inbox management, and stakeholder relationship skills with the ability to liaise, consult and negotiate across all areas of the business.
