Job Description - Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (240001BC) About the role An opportunity has arisen to join the team at our Fleet Vehicle Centre located at Eight Mile Plains.
RACQ's fleet includes passenger vehicles plus light, medium and heavy duty commercial vehicles.
In this position you will service and repair RACQ's fleet vehicles, including pre-delivery and fit-out of new vehicles.
You will also diagnose mechanical, auto electrical and engine management faults and fit communication equipment.
Duties Service and repair of fleet and staff vehicles in accordance with RACQ fleet maintenance program, this can include passenger vehicles, light, medium and heavy duty commercial vehicles.Undertake fit-out and pre-delivery work on new vehicles including auto-electrical and electronic installation and parts fabrication as required.Install and regular maintenance of computer and telecommunications equipment.Maintain and repair workshop equipment as required.Compile and maintain service records and invoicing.About you Qualified Automotive Professional: Relevant qualifications in motor mechanics or related trade (auto electrical or diesel mechanics preferred).Heavy Vehicle Experience: Beneficial but not essential.Licensing: Current C Class driver's license required; MR/HR licenses highly regarded.Diagnostic and Repair Skills: Proficient in diagnosing and repairing various automotive faults.High Standards and Safety: Perform tasks to high standards with a focus on safety and timeliness.Pre-Employment Checks: Able to complete medical, drug & alcohol screening, and criminal record check.Work Hours: On-site, Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4 pm at Eight Mile Plains.What we offer you: Financial benefits and discounts on a range of banking, assistance and insurance products.Give back to our communities with paid volunteer leave, payroll giving and volunteering for community events.A range of flexible working and leave options, parental leave of 13 weeks primary carer leave, purchased leave up to 4 weeks per year, cultural observance leave, substitution of public holidays for cultural/religious reasons, personal leave for wellbeing, gender affirmation leave.Prioritise your wellbeing with discounts on health programs and access to wellbeing initiatives such as yoga, mindfulness and free and confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Invest in your development with in-house development programs and access to 80,000+ online courses.Please Note: to objectively assess your potential and suitability for the role, RACQ may require you to complete video interviews, psychometric assessments and/or criminal history check as part of the application process.
