Using remotely operated, novel underground mining (UGM) technology to extract key critical minerals.
The technology we have developed enables access to ore bodies previously thought to be uneconomic - in future, we hope it brings potential to unlock other deep deposits of critical minerals, including those nearby to the Balranald project.About the LocationIluka's Balranald operation is located approximately 30kms outside of Balranald township in regional NSW.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who lives locally.
Or if residing within the regional area; Mildura, Swan Hill, or surrounding towns, there is a drive-in drive-out option and allowance.
Alternatively, we will consider fly-in, fly-out from Melbourne.About the RoleReporting to the Environmental, Rehabilitation & Community Relations Superintendent, the Environmental Technician will play a hands-on role in providing support to the environment and rehabilitation functions to ensure implementation and compliance of the site's environment and rehabilitation plans and activities.
The position will be primarily field-based which involves hands-on work outdoors.Your Accountabilities Will Include:Maintain air quality monitoring equipment and obtain data for reporting as per monitoring plan.Sample groundwater at designated locations, package and send to lab for analysis.Carry out other environmental monitoring as required – e.g.
noise, radiation.Coordinate the weed management program by monitoring for weed infestations and implementing eradication programs.
This includes organising labour support, materials, and field GIS mapping.Plan and execute feral animal monitoring and control programs.Undertake field impact assessments and GIS surveys in support of vegetation clearance requests, complete clearance boundary surveys (pre and post clearance) and supervise clearance activities as required.Input environmental data into electronic database.Monitor and effect repairs to fences, monitoring sites, and other assets linked to environment and rehabilitation programs.Coordinate fauna management activities and surveys.Conduct regular site environmental inspections and ensure actions are closed out in a timely manner.Monitor the site's wastewater recycling and potable water systems to ensure effective operation.About YouQualifications and Experience:Certificate IV Conservation and Ecosystem Management (or willing to undertake).Able to undertake hands-on work in the field unsupervised and in remote locations.Experience driving off-road in rural and remote locations.Previous experience undertaking environmental monitoring, weed control, pest control, and other land management activities.Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with teams and contractors, with a focus on healthy and safe working practices.Our Offer to YouFamily friendly 8:6 roster - DIDO from towns within the regional area or FIFO from Melbourne.New camp facilities.Be supported through an inclusive and collaborative culture.Up to 18 Weeks Paid Parental Leave.Ability to Purchase Additional Annual Leave.Competitive Salary and Bonus Structures.Company share matching scheme.We are committed to upholding our Business Values, supporting equal opportunities, gender equality, and cultural diversity.
