In Australia we supply Electric Machines, Excavators, Wheel Loaders and Articulated Haulers.
Reporting to the Head of VCE Oceania Sales, the Commercial Manager and Strategic Accounts Mining provides support to the VCE Oceania team in building a strong commercial interface between Volvo and the dealer partners in the mining market segment.
The Commercial Manager will assist the Head of VCE Oceania Sales to drive customer satisfaction, market share, sales and profitability of machine sales and productivity services, including machine volumes, gross margin, price realisation and market penetration on designated markets, by managing prices and other commercial agreements.
As Strategic Accounts Manager for Mining, the position will sell directly to the top 10 mining companies in Australia, implementing Volvo CE strategy and meet agreed sales targets of volume and profitability.
Key responsibilities include: Develop and execute strategic, tactical, and operational business plans in collaboration with dealer partners and regional teamsDrive business growth in the mining sector through innovative solutions, including Equipment as a Service (EaaS) and Agile Mining initiativesAnalyse and manage price strategies, forecasting performance, and governance frameworks to align with company objectivesStrategically plan and execute product launches to maximise market impact.Work with the Head of VCE Oceania Sales in building a high-performing dealer network in selected markets, collaborating closely with retail development functionsMonitor, analyse, and report market dynamics, including competitor activity, local pricing, customer expectations, and trade regulationsWork closely with regional functions to communicate and prioritise market needs, aligning activity plans with organisational goalsDrive customer satisfaction, market share, volume, and pricing performance across dealer marketsProvide key account management for Volvo's top 10 mining customers in Australia to enhance market penetration and profitabilityTrack, monitor, and report on machine and sales performance and market dynamics to inform strategic decisionsWho are you?The ideal candidate will possess: Extensive experience in developing and executing strategic business plans, managing pricing strategies, forecasting, and governance to achieve objectivesDeep understanding of market dynamics, including pricing, trade regulations, customer expectations, competitor strategies, and the mining or related industrial sectorProven ability to drive customer satisfaction, market share growth, and profitability through effective account management, quotes, tenders, and deal negotiationsStrong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills, enabling collaboration across teams domestically and internationally.
