Volunteer Coordinator - Toowoomba HospiceType: Permanent Part-Time (30 hours/week, Monday to Friday; occasional weekends for fundraising/events support)
About Us The Toowoomba Hospice is Toowoomba's only purpose-built six bed facility that provides 24-hour inpatient multi-disciplinary end of life care to anyone in the community over 18 years of age who has a terminal illness.
The Hospice is a small, not for profit, organisation with a wonderful team of dedicated staff and volunteers who are passionate about providing the very best care supporting clients at the end of their lives, and such care is based on mutual respect, trust and individual needs to a variety of clients and their loved ones.
We are currently seeking to appoint a Volunteer Coordinator who will be responsible for the overall organisation, recruitment, training, and coordination of volunteers. Selection Criteria The successful candidates would ideally be:
Compassionate with a caring, engaging, and professional approach.Energetic with ability to be a leader and a drive to deliver on the organisations mission and vision.Committed to and able to demonstrate a knowledge of continuous quality improvement.Able to provide and demonstrate exceptional communication skills and customer service.Qualifications & Experience Completion or commitment to complete Certificate IV in Volunteer Coordination highly regarded.Previous Volunteer Coordinator role highly regarded.National Police check.Tasks & Responsibilities Promotes and supports the Hospice through instigating programs to recruit new volunteers and programs to maintain high morale with all volunteers.Is responsible for the orientation and in-service training of volunteers, conducts volunteer information sessions and is fully conversant with each volunteer role within the Hospice.Coordinates and maintains a roster of roles and duties.Maintains all administrative records relating to volunteers including police checks, ID cards and computer databases.Provides liaison between volunteers and all other areas of the Hospice community.Assists in the development of role descriptions, policies, work instructions and strategies for volunteer services.If you believe you are suitable to join our team, please submit a CV with cover letter responding to the selection criteria, qualifications, and experience.
