We are introducing new planning controls in 10 pilot activity centres, allowing an additional 60,000 homes to be built. 25 new activity centres near train stations or trams have been added to the pilot program currently underway.About UsThe Department of Transport and Planning oversees key planning, transport and land use policy decisions and management across the State. A life-cycle approach to planning, building, connecting and sustaining communities means our people can come together to improve services, deliver sustainable projects, focus on customer engagement, streamline regulatory approval pathways, facilitate community consultation and better realise local economic opportunities for more liveable communities across Victoria.The Strategy and Precincts is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning which defines and plans the needs and approach to Victorian places and communities.About the RoleThe Activity Centre Division works across State Government and with local government, industry and the community to implement the Government's Activity Centre Program. The Project Support Officer role supports the development and delivery of Planning Controls within Activity Centres. The role supports stakeholder and community engagement, prepares a range of project documents, monitors and reports on project status, contributes to risk and issue management, contributes to the processes for project procurement and contract management and establishes and maintains relationships with multiple stakeholders.Position OutcomesThe Project Support Officer, Activity Centres, contributes to stakeholder and community engagement efforts, including the development and delivery of Activity Centres. They support the analysis and reporting of feedback to guide the program's progression.This role provides high-level administrative and project management support, managing tasks to ensure the effective delivery of the Activity Centres Program. It involves engaging with key stakeholders across government, local councils, the community, and the development industry.The officer prepares quality minutes, agendas, papers, presentations, speaking notes, and correspondence, ensuring timely delivery. They foster team effectiveness by promoting knowledge sharing and contributing to a collaborative workplace culture.Flexibility and collaboration are key aspects of the role, ensuring alignment with business unit, group, and departmental priorities. The officer also practices cultural safety by creating inclusive environments that value participation and equity.Additional responsibilities may be assigned under the Public Administration Act 2004 (Vic), consistent with the officer's skills and capabilities.Qualifications and Role Specific RequirementsDemonstrated knowledge and understanding of government objectives and departmental policies and ability to apply these.Experience as project support or business support officer.How to ApplyClick the 'Apply' button and follow the prompts.
