Partnership Coordinator

EduKAiT is the main platform for the Australian Government's support to the Kiribati Education sector, specifically the Government of Kiribati and Ministry of Education (MoE), as it implements its Education Sector Strategic Plan (ESSP 2024-27).
The program will be implemented in two five-year phases over 10 years.
Phase 1 includes an emphasis on Literacy and Language for School Years 1-3, and gender and increased English proficiency for School Years 7–9 and address the high Year 9 dropout rate for boys.

For more information, please see www.dt-global.com The RoleThe Partnership Coordinator role is for an Australia-based specialist, with regular in-country visits to Kiribati.
The role will be part-time, with potential for scaling up as needed, based on Annual Planning considerations for all activities and inputs.
During this first year, it is critical that the incumbent establishes a comprehensive database of interested participants in Australia and the Pacific region, necessitating a concentrated effort to engage Australian schools and institutions.
The position will report to the EduKAiT Team Leader and work closely with the EduKAiT Deputy Team Leader.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct informal needs analysis to assess and explore partnership needs and opportunities identified by the Ministry of Education.Evaluate the supply side for potential partnerships at local, regional and international levels.Act as a liaison to facilitate school-to-school and institution-to-institution partnerships.Establish cultural and operational linkages that benefit both parties, ensuring mutual growth and development.Target Identification and Linkages: Identify suitable partnership targets within Australia, the Pacific region, and Kiribati.Foster collaboration that promotes the transfer of skills, knowledge, and where applicable, the sharing of resources.Lead the development of formal partnerships through Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), action plans, and the coordination of study tours and ways to maintain virtual partnerships.Facilitate engagement strategies to kick-start and nurture relationships with potential partners.Strategic Program Linkages: Provide support in developing connections with programs such as the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) programme to contribute to the Language and Literacy Strategy.Establish links with Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs to support the development of Kiribati's TVET courses.Build connections with libraries and librarians to strengthen the Kiribati National Library and Archives.Support to Kiribati Teachers College (KTC): Assist the Kiribati Teachers College in establishing collaborations with regional and international organisations, including the Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO), Australian Teacher Training Institutions, and Pacific educational and climate education research bodies.Reporting and Evaluation: Provide regular progress reports to the Ministry of Education on the status of partnerships.Monitor the impact of established partnerships and ensure they align with strategic goals.Selection CriteriaQualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education, International Relations, Public Administration or a related field (Master's preferred)Demonstrated Experience in: Partnership development or international cooperation in the education sectorFamiliarity with the education systems in Australia, the Pacific region, and Kiribati is a plusSkills & Abilities: Developing and maintaining networks with education institutions in Australia and the Pacific region including teacher training institutions, educational research institutions, libraries, departments of education, and schools (government and church run).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess needs and identify opportunitiesCross-cultural communication skills and the ability to build rapport with international and local partnersProject management skills, with experience in developing MOUs, action plans and strategic partnershipsStrong organisational skills and the ability to develop and manage multiple partnerships simultaneously.Click on the link or copy paste it to access the full Terms of Reference for this position: kqrpvm Other InformationAmendments to the position's terms of reference may be made during the period of the engagement as required.
