Permanent part time position (4 days per week)Increase fortnight take-home pay with access to $15,900 salary packaging benefits10% gap discount for childcare services with Uniting Early LearningYour new roleWe have an exciting opportunity for a social worker to join our Adoption and Permanent Care team, working across the Permanent Care Program, Adoption Program and Concurrent Care Program.
As a Case Worker you will:
Oversee recruitment, training and assessment of carersUndertake comprehensive assessments of children referred to the program and shortlist placements for childrenOffer relinquishment counselling support to birth parents in the infant adoption programProvide information and counselling to adopted people and their families in relation to past adoptionsProvide pre and post-legal supervision and support to children, their carers and birth familiesBenefits of working at UnitingOur work isn't easy, but it matters.

You will also have:
Demonstrated case management and counselling experience within the child and family welfare sector, particularly in out of home care, child protection or adoption servicesProven competence in child and carer assessments and supporting placement processes for children in out of home careAn understanding of the Best Interests Framework, Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and Adoption Act 1984Excellent written skills with the ability to maintain case notes and prepare reports in a timely mannerStrong interpersonal and communication skillsView the position description here.
