Mater Research is looking for a highly motivated Administration Officer to join our IBD Clinical Trials Unit on a maximum term full-time basis for 12 months. This role will be based at our South Brisbane campus.

Key ResponsibilitiesNegotiation and oversight of study budgets and contractsAssistance with research ethics and governance submissionsAssist in oversight of the Clinical trials cost-centre including unit budget planning, resource allocation and financial management, including clinical trials management softwareAbility to establish and maintain effective communication networks to facilitate efficient conduct of clinical research with relevant collaborators, hospital departments involved in the study, service providers, clinical research organisations and study sponsorsDevelop a strong working relationship with the study Investigators and the research personnel to ensure effective and timely implementation of clinical researchDemonstrated understanding and commitment to the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research is requiredAssist with regular finance audit and report to the supervisorHelp maintain the database of study status and subject enrolment progressCoordination of research studies and clinical trials in a manner that ensures consistency and adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and all applicable regulatory requirementsAdherence to MRL/MML Clinical Policies and Procedures in the conduct of clinical studiesLogistical support of research activitiesAbout YouAn appropriate qualification or relevant experience in a health-related discipline, clinical trials co-ordination or project managementRelevant tertiary qualification and work experience in finance managementAbility to conduct clinical research to ensure consistency and adherence to Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP)Experience in a range of clinical trial coordination and management functions including ethics and governance submissions, amendments and reportingExperience with finance including accounts payable/invoicing and auditingCurrent Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) certificate (desirable)Current clinical experience in gastroenterology or other clinical trials settings (desirable)Mater is Queensland's largest and most innovative not-for-profit healthcare service, providing care for almost 700,000 patients a year across a network of 11 hospitals.
