Global Strategy Engineer, DC Design EngineeringAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.

And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.The Global Engineering Strategy team (GES) is looking for a results-oriented, inventive data center engineer to drive development, implementation and delivery of enterprise data centers strategies through the use of AWS infrastructure builds, which meet strict quality and performance levels across the globe.You will help lead the engineering due diligence efforts for new and expanding regions, while maintaining the highest performance standards and utilizing innovation to reduce budgets and increase efficiency.You will work directly with our Real Estate, Risk and Resiliency, Design and Pre-Construction teams on global designs.You will assist in data center site selection, review of due diligence reports, contribute to site planning and development and play a pivotal role in the delivery of data center designs.Key job responsibilitiesCollaborating with internal stakeholders during the due diligence phase to oversee the process and ensure design requirements are consideredCollaborating with internal teams to gather data to ensure pre-requisites for start of design stage are metLeading the predesign phase and ensuring design ready deliverables are handed over to the design teamAnalysis of major intercepts impact to site plans and strategyIn conjunction with the Energy Team, work with International Utilities to understand HV / MV substation design and impacts to assess risk and impacts on our buildsProviding engineering design decisions to the planning team for strategic planning and region selectionCollaborating with other disciplines such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architects to assess how our various products can be deployed in that regionAbility to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regionsEscalate issues as required and communicate clearly and effectively at the appropriate level of detail with people from a wide range of technical abilities and backgroundsTravel will occasionally be necessary but shouldn't be more than 25%.
International support will be part of the job.A day in the lifeAre strong leaders who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of deliveryProvide creative engineering balanced with high quality and customer focusWork as part of a team to accomplish our goalsPerform technical design engineering diligence for global regionsThrive in a fast-paced environmentUnderstand the best practices for service-oriented product deliveryHave extensive experience within the arena of domestic and international data center deliveryMinimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Architecture / Electrical / Mechanical or Environmental Engineering5+ years of experience with industrial / commercial design or experience directly related to data center infrastructure and data center planningProficient with AutoCAD, Revit, BluebeamPossess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, maintain high quality standardsProficient with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Navisworks, SketchUp and MS Office SuiteProficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards including Local and international standardsAbout the teamDiverse ExperiencesAWS values diverse experiences.
